Join us Sunday September 17th, 2017 for the CalaRat Challenge. This is a 1/2M trail race that starts and finishes at the Cal-Wood Education center. It’s run on a number of different trails throughout the beautiful private properties of Cal-Wood and Balarat Outdoor Education center. The event will also be supported by a 5K race and a 1K family/kids run or walk. The CalaRat Challenge will be limited to 150 participants for the 1/2M and 5K races combined.
The CalaRat Challenge is a promotion of health, fun and fitness with its primary aim to support the Cal-Wood Education Center, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and Balarat Outdoor Education Center, Denver Public Schools. Cal-Wood provides outdoor experiences, specifically outreaching to low-income and minority groups and Balarat Outdoor Education provides instruction to Denver Public Schools students in environmental studies, western history and outdoor leadership skills at their 2,000 acres outdoor-classrooms combined.
The CalaRat Challenge raises funds for these organizations in order to increase access to outdoor education experiences and life transforming opportunities for youth and low-income families. All race proceeds will benefit these outdoor education centers located just outside of Jamestown, CO.
